Hoodia Weight Loss
There have been a lot of medical
breakthroughs, in the last decade, with a vast majority of them
having been substantiated by reliable sources. Some, however,
have gained publicity and found their way on to the open market
without having been approved by the appropriate authorities. In
particular the one we found most interesting, in our field, was
the use of the plant Hoodia as a product used in weight loss /
diet programs.
Hoodia is a type of succulent plant
under the subfamily
Asclepiadoideae.
More of a discovery than
a breakthrough hoodia has been used by people of Nambia, as an
appetite suppressant, and over the last few years has gained
some popularity in the western world for the same
purpose
As with any substance,
however, caution needs to be exercised. For more natural and
safer methods of weight loss we recommend several products.

The following cautions apply to
hoodia and need to be taken
seriously
Do
not take hoodia without first talking to your doctor if
you
-
have diabetes or are are
taking a substance such as insulin or anything
similar which is designed to control your blood
sugar levels,
-
have or have had any
cardio (heart) problems or take any substances
designed to assist with any heart
conditions
-
are even slightly anemic
(have trouble with forming blood clots, or are
taking a medicine to increase or decrease the
clotting of your blood such as aspirin, warfarin
(Coumadin), or heparin,
-
have or had any eating
disorders
Hoodia may not be suitable for you if
you have or have had any of the things listed above. You should
consult your local doctor before embarking on hoodia intake
because you may need to undergo special monitoring during
treatment.
This does not mean hoodia is an
approved substance. It simply means that it is known to the
medical profession and that an expert medical opinion needs to
be sought before you make any decisions in regard to hoodia
consumption
This is because hoodia has not been
assessed by the FDA as yet and remains unregulated and
officially untested. For this reason any persons taking it will
be doing so at their own risk. Any potential outcomes, as a
result of hoodia consumption, either advantageous or
disadvantageous are unknown, unfounded and not documented. It
is for this reason that publicity alone should not be relied
upon and healthy, proven formulas should be sought
out.
In addition to this there are no
standards in place in regard to the production of hoodia based
products and any products claiming any benefits of using hoodia
cannot be verified.
There have been cases reported, at
hospital emergency departments, where health and vitamin
suppliments have contained dangerously high levels of
contamination by substances such as murcury, silver, aluminium
oxide, lead and other metallic compounds. This on its own is
enough to reconsider any ideas about consuming products which
have yet to be approved
We have tested 105 weight loss
programs and products to date and have found only three which
meet our criteria. Click the links below to check them out
